Project description
Tungsten is the most promising material of choice to be used in the demanding environment in future fusion power plants, producing energy without CO2. To determine the behavior of the material in such a demanding environment, we will utilize the Artificial Intelligent based Machine learning to describe our system. We will focus on how irradiation is degrading the material utilizing a multi scale model, to achieve results directly comparable with test reactors and experiments. The understanding gained within this project will both give a deep insight in the defect production and accumulation in tungsten as well as pin-point the possible mechanisms that could have detrimental effects on the whole power plant. This will ensure the power plant to be run safely and more reliably, minimizing the service breaks and waste produced.
