Project description
Casual Bee research infrastructure serves as a platform for academic and industry collaboration in the field of materials characterization and aging. University of Turku has existing materials science and now with the materials engineering extension, there is possibility to build up larger infrastructure to serve materials research community. University of Turku’s extension in engineering is led by the industrial needs and the stakeholders have donated over 5 MEUR for professor positions in mechanical and materials engineering, proving that there is significant interest and need for wider industry collaboration and education in this field. The planned research infrastructure serves a variety of different industries from industry materials, energy materials as well as health technologies. We also develop new models for industrial collaboration with the intention to serve many different sized companies and raise the awareness related to the newly opened opportunities.
