FinLive RI, a new national livestock research infrastructure is a distributed research infrastructure network that upgrades, connects and integrates existing but scattered national facilities and infrastructures. It will comprise of high-throughput and flexible experimental environments with the newest sensor and analytical technologies for animal monitoring and sampling, data management and storage. This project will make the existing infrastructures (4 units at Helsinki, Jokioinen and Kuopio) of Luke and UH available to the business sector and other research institutes through a common service model. It will improve the data availability as well as critical instrumentation. We will develop a shared online portal providing storage and joint access to data coming from different research units using in the project. Improving the data infrastructure will also make the analysis of experimental data more efficient enabling faster delivery of results for customers.
