Beskrivning av projektet
The Semantic Parliament (SEMPARL) is a consortium research project, which creates a Linked Open Data service and research infrastructure for Parliament of Finland data, and studies parliamentary politics and political culture. The project builds a public service based on Semantic Web technologies for researchers, citizens, the media, and the government, and enriches the parliament data with additional data sources, such as biographical data, social media data (Twitter), and legislative data. The research project is interested in parliamentary, representative culture and the use of political language, and explores these by looking at the Members of the Parliament, their networks, legislative work and political communication. Moreover, the project aims to understand the impact of the new digital communication technologies on parliamentary culture.
