Project description |
The proposed project will take simulator-driven design methodologies to the next level and will develop community-based real-time simulator-driven processes. This project hypothesizes that using multi-physical multi-body system models in realtime applications makes it possible to build a bridge between the product development team and customers and thus provide the development team with a better understanding of customer wants and needs.
Community-Based Realtime Simulation for Product Development presents the following two research grand challenges.
• A “best ever” physics-based realtime simulation engine (R1) and
• A crowdsourcing-based, decision-making, realtime simulation toolset (R2)
Progress in meeting these challenges will be demonstrated by the flagship project, which will be the Design of a Mini Excavator Based on a Crowdsourcing Approach (F). The flagship project will be conducted with the help of students and visitors to the Lappeenranta University of Technology. |
