Hankkeen julkinen kuvaus
The project created new methods of data modeling, interactive analytics, and consumer behavior analyses: improved models of user interests in online discussion and its relationship to brands. The project introduced probabilistic models of discussion in hierarchically organized venues, as well as how authors participate in discussion and how the discussion evolves over time. As consumer data is high-dimensional, the project introduced methods to visually analyze it, find its relevant feature subspaces, mine customer focus sets, and interactively find and analyze relevant parts of the data. The project studied how consumer behaviour is affected by user generated content or word-of-mouth, and used probabilistic discussion models to analyze perception of brands. Strong results were achieved, with 25 publications published in top journals/conferences and more on the way.
