Project description
Aerosol, Clouds and Trace Gases Research Infrastructure (ACTRIS) is a highly distributed research infrastructure that aims to secure long-term atmospheric research done at a European level, and provide tools to tackle socio-economic challenges including poor air quality and climate change. ACTRIS consists of an extensive network of National Facilities, and Central Facilities; Head Office, Data Centre and Topical Centres. Finnish contribution to ACTRIS coordination is significant; Finland will host ACTRIS Head Office. Finland also contributes to ACTRIS Topical Centres with expertise in sub-10 nm aerosol measurements and spearheading instrument development in atmospheric mass spectrometry, and has several state-of-the-art ACTRIS research facilities. ACTRIS will provide access to atmospheric data, research possibilities, instrument calibration and development, and education to a vast community of users; scientists, policymakers and the public and private sector.
