Project description
Aerosol, Clouds and Trace Gases Research Infrastructure (ACTRIS) is a highly distributed research infrastructure that aims to secure long-term atmospheric research done at a European level, and provide tools to tackle socio-economic challenges including air quality and climate change. ACTRIS consists of an extensive network of national research facilities, and central facilities; Head Office, Data Centre and Topical Centres. Finnish contribution to ACTRIS coordination is significant; Finland will host ACTRIS Head Office. Finland has several state-of-the-art ACTRIS level research facilities. ACTRIS in Finland and in Europe will provide access to atmospheric data, research possibilities, instrument calibration and development, and education to a vast community of users; scientists, policymakers and the public and private sector. ACTRIS is strongly related to other RIs of the Earth system (e.g. ICOS ERIC) and networks on both national and international level.
