Project description
Despite the growing knowledge of the mechanisms that mediate the leukocyte migration in adulthood, the role of individual molecules and the mechanisms that mediate and regulate leukocyte migration through the endothelium during the fetal ontogeny is still unknown. Correct distribution and migration of leukocytes during the embryonic development is a critical step as the leukocyte cells have a central part in normal development, tissue homeostasis and immunological defense. Endothelial cells lining the entire vascular system are crucial for guiding leukocyte migration in the body. The proposed study aims to use single-cell transcriptome and mass cytometry profiling to reveal the mechanism of embryonic leukocyte migration.
