Project description
An important area in modern cancer is the optimization of drug pharmacokinetics. The main task thereby is creation of a high local concentration of the drug in the tumor with minimal systemic and tissue-specific toxicity. This can be achieved effectively distributing the drug using active delivery methods, which are potentially much more effective than passive accumulation. Therefore, design of new drug carries is one of the fast developing directions of research in the nanomedicine area. This project focuses on design and synthesis of such carriers. This will significantly improve efficiency of cancer treatment, thus saving lives of many people.
