Project description
The ultimate goal of this strong application- and industry-oriented Research Project is the development of novel flexible matrix sensor for the in vivo real-time assessment of the blood microcirculation patterns in the skin for purposes of the wearable electronics. The project will combine biomedical diagnostics with the recent advances in the development of ultracompact VCSEL semiconductor lasers and technology of printed flexible hybrid electronic systems. The success of the interdisciplinary project will lead to many multidisciplinary innovations in diagnostics of the microvascular system with potential application in early prediction of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), sports medicine and rehabilitation of nonhealing wounds. FeatureSens project has the ambitious goal of proposing a nontrivial sensor for blood flow monitoring in next-generation wearable devices, which has potential to serve not just for heartbeat measurements but also for RBC speed distribution profile assessment.
