Project description
The main task of the project is to compute the induced by cosmic rays and energetic particles atmospheric ionization in the Earth's atmosphere. For the first time several models, which encompass different populations of energetic particles contributing to the atmospheric ionization will be jointly used. Flux of high energy particles penetrate into the Earth’s atmosphere and produce complicated cascade, which lead to an ionization. The majority of cosmic rays originate from the Galaxy with intensity modulated in the Heliosphere. The Earth is also hit sporadically by high intensity, but with low occurrence rate solar energetic particles. In order to build a realistic model of induced atmospheric ionization it is necessary to account all particle populations. In the existing models the particle populations are considered separately and/or within limited energy range. Herein, we will extend several of the existing models, considering our previous experience and will develop new ones.
