Project description
In this project, we study phenomena, materials, and devices to be used in future ICT applications. The consortium will address phenomena and materials in order to realise unprecedented performance in selected sensing applications. The plan is to utilise the phenomena, deriving from fundamental physics research, in applications with potential to reach the market in the time frame from a few years to a decade. The validity of the chosen technologies is verified through constructing and testing a number of demonstrator systems. These include fast and ultrasensitive microwave detection, THz imaging with large superconducting detector arrays utilising parallelisation techniques combined with superconducting sensor technology, and magnetometry with a novel parallelised technique proposed by one of the partners. The work is carried out in collaboration with private partners to study the potential commercialization aspects of the technology.
